Great question! We can confirm that the coffee is 100% coffee beans and contains absolutely no nuts or any other added ingredients. The roasters' notes on the bags are actually tasting notes that roasters have discovered while roasting the coffee. There's a lot that can affect a coffee's taste such as how it's roasted, where the beans were grown, how they were processed - and so much more. 

It's sometimes easier to relate these flavor notes to a sommelier's tasting notes for wine - the notes listed on the bags of coffee are not actually contained in the coffee but rather what roasters are tasting when they sip it!
